Boardly: Game Night Classics ("the app") is an offline collection of classic board games such as chess, backgammon, Ludo, checkers, Snakes & Ladders, Reversi, tic-tac-toe and Four in a Row published by boardlygames ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information. The short version: we do not collect your personal information, there are no accounts, and the app talks to only three outside services: Google AdMob, which shows ads, GitHub Pages, where we publish a small settings file, and Google Play, only if you choose to rate the app.
Nothing. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no servers of ours. We do not ask for your name, email address, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, and the app does not request those permissions.
The app saves your game in progress, your new-game choices (such as the number of players and the computer level), your sound, music, fireplace and vibration settings, and a count of finished games and the date the rating prompt was last shown (see Ratings prompt below) in the app's private storage on your device. This information is never sent to us or anyone else. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
The app is supported by ads from Google AdMob (a banner shown during games and a full-screen ad between rounds). Because children may use the app, every ad request is marked as child-directed and limited to a G (general audiences) content rating, and the app does not request or use the Android advertising ID, so ads are not personalised.
To deliver and measure ads, Google's advertising software may process technical information from your device, such as your IP address, device and app information, and diagnostics. This is handled by Google under its own policies; we do not receive this information. You can read about it in Google's Privacy Policy and how AdMob handles data.
The app uses the internet only to load ads, a small settings file (described below) and, if you rate the app, Google Play; every game works without one.
Each time it starts, the app downloads a small settings file from our page on GitHub Pages, a web hosting service run by GitHub. The file says which games the app shows, in what order, and how often ads may appear. The request contains nothing about you: no identifier, no account and no game data. Like any website, GitHub's servers see the IP address the request comes from and log it for security; GitHub handles this under its own privacy statement, and we do not receive it. If the download fails, the app uses the last settings it saved, or its built-in ones.
The app uses Google Play's In-App Review library, which may show Google's rating card after you have finished several games. If you rate, the rating goes to Google Play under Google's own policies; we do not receive anything from the card. The app only keeps on your device when it last asked and how many rounds have finished, and sends nothing to us. The "Rate Boardly" tile in Settings simply opens the app's page in the Play Store.
The Settings screen has a "Send feedback" button. It opens your own email app with a message to us, already filled in with the app version, the Android version and your phone's model, so we can see what a problem might depend on. Nothing is sent until you send the email yourself, and you can delete those lines first. The app itself sends nothing. When you do send it, we receive your email address and your message, and we use them only to answer you.
The app is meant for a general audience aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Ads are child-directed and use a general-audiences rating, as described above.
We do not sell, rent or share personal information, because we do not collect any.
Since we hold no personal information about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you have a question or a request anyway, contact us (below).
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy (for example, by adding a feature that handles information), we will update this page and the date above before the change reaches you.
